Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg is proud to present Shenandoah, a musical by James Lee Barrett, Gary Geld, Phillip Rose, Peter Udell, as the sixth show in our 67th Season.
Winner of the 1975 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical, Shenandoah is a colorful and dramatic saga based on the film. Widower Charlie Anderson is a strong-willed Virginia farmer trying to keep his family neutral as the Civil War rages. Union forces and the Confederates see things only in shades of Blue or Grey, so the family is inevitably swept up in the conflict against all odds. Their story is a heart-warming and heart-rending portrayal of the upheaval that left wounds on the land and its people for generations to come.
Shenandoah opens on Friday, May 4, at 8:00 p.m. and runs weekends until Sunday, May 20.
