Our season begins with the classic Neil Simon comedy. Middle-aged and married, overworked and overweight, Barney Cashman wants to join the sexual revolution before it’s too late and arranges three seductions: the first, Elaine Navazio proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle of neuroses; Bobbi Michele is next, a 20-ish actress who is too kooky by half; finally comes September and Jeanette Fisher, a gloomy, depressed housewife who happens to be married to Barney’s best friend. Come see the show called “Blisteringly funny!” by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ghosts of Mechanicsburg

Ghosts of Mechanicsburg is the creation of local playwright and author Cindy Dlugolecki.  Based on her personal interviews with local witnesses and numerous historical accounts, Ms. Dlugolecki expertly weaves fact and fiction to spin intriguing tales of murder and mayhem on the streets and in the homes of seemingly tranquil Mechanicsburg.  This fascinating production has been a local favorite for years and offers the perfect entertainment for the Halloween season.  This show is also suitable for younger theatre patrons.

It’s bedlam in Bethlehem as the film crew for ABC (Angel Broadcasting Company) has arrived with cameras, cables, and cosmic chaos to document the nativity. It’s the night before Christmas, and the gospels are in rewrites. A wonderful holiday show by a local playwright!

The scene is a small Southern town where Colonel and Christine Penmark live with their daughter, Rhoda. On the surface, little Rhoda Penmark is sweet, charming, full of old-fashioned graces, loved by her parents, and admired by all her elders. But Rhoda’s mother has an uneasy feeling about her daughter. When on of Rhoda’s schoolmates is mysteriously drowned at a picnic, Mrs. Penmark is alarmed. For the boy who was drowned was the one who had won the penmanship medal that Rhoda felt she deserved.

Murder at the Howard Johnson’s

Is all fair in love? Even murder? That’s the question posed by this light and funny suspense comedy about a love triangle in a Howard Johnson Motor Inn. A three scene love triangle involving a woman, her lover, and her husband.

Shenandoah

Winner of the 1975 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical, Shenandoah is a colorful and dramatic saga based on the film. James Stewart stars as a strong willed Virginia farmer trying to keep his family neutral as the Civil War rages. Union forces and the Confederates see things only in shades of Blue or Grey, so the family is inevitably swept up in the conflict against all odds. Their story is a heart-warming and heart-rending portrayal of the upheavel that left wounds on the land and its people for generations to come.
